When to Go Diving in Maldives
The Maldives is exceptional all year round, but the best time to visit Maafushi is between November and April, when the waters are calmer, visibility reaches 30 meters and the chance of spotting pelagic species is higher.
During the southwest monsoon season (May to October), currents can be stronger and it is worse for diving.
The Boat and the Equipment: Comfort on Every Dive
The boat used for the dives is spacious and well equipped. Sufficient space is provided to prepare the equipment comfortably, plus an upper deck ideal for relaxing between dives. The diving equipment is in excellent condition, with well-calibrated regulators, wetsuits in good condition and fully charged tanks with the possibility of Nitrox.

The icing on the cake was the famous excursion to Shark Tank near Male.

Cocoa Corner: A Marine Life Spectacular
Located in the Kandooma Channel, Cocoa Corner offers a breathtaking dive experience. The dive begins on a steep wall filled with caves and overhangs, home to a variety of marine life. The current can be moderate or strong, allowing for an exciting drift dive.
On our dive, the current took us to a corner where the action was concentrated. Whitetip reef sharks, hawksbill turtles and a school of fusiliers swam around us. About 10 meters away, a huge tuna was patrolling the area, an image that stuck in our memory.
Kandooma Thila: Adrenaline Underwater
Considered one of the most spectacular dive sites in the atoll, Kandooma Thila is a teardrop-shaped formation with walls covered with soft coral and a large concentration of fish.
From the drop-off, the current pulled us into the action. We encountered a school of bannerfish and trevallies, while in the distance we saw eagle rays moving gracefully through the current. We finished the dive at the top of the reef, where green turtles and a school of batfish awaited us.
Manta point: Encounter with Ocean Giants
Available only during the southwest monsoon, Manta point (also known as Manta Block) is a must for manta ray lovers. This small coral block at 18 meters acts as a cleaning station for these majestic animals.
As soon as we arrived at the site, the visibility was excellent. Several manta rays were approaching the block to be cleaned by wrasse, creating a hypnotic spectacle. We stood motionless on the sandy bottom, enjoying the scene as the mantas swam a few meters away from us.
Shark Tank: An Adrenaline Rush
Get ready, you're going to freak out!
For divers looking for a thrilling experience, Shark Tank offers a close encounter with sharks. At this point, the strong current attracts dozens of reef sharks, providing one of the most impactful experiences of the trip.

The organization of Sinai Dive Club was impeccable. From the allocation of equipment to the detailed briefing before the dive, the team of instructors and divemasters, especially Alex and Mo took care to prioritize safety without sacrificing excitement, ensuring that the dive was unforgettable.
We have never seen so many sharks together
We were lucky, we were able to see hundreds of spinners, and on that same dive bull sharks, several hammerheads and lemon sharks.

A unique and unforgettable experience
Each dive in Maafushi has been a real journey into another world, full of discoveries. As with our expedition to Arabia, we have not been disappointed.
A moment we will always remember was the dive in Shark tank Male. The contrast between the calmness of the sea and the power of the sharks took our breath away. It was an experience as fascinating as it was unique, thanks to the professionalism and experience of Sinai Club Maldives, which provided us with the necessary safety to enjoy this impressive spot.
The feeling of being surrounded by sharks, which swam around us without any fear, was overwhelming. Safety was always a priorityand each of the guides looked out for us, making sure we were enjoying ourselves as we explored this natural habitat.
Mafushi is ideal for both experienced divers and those taking their first steps in diving, as the center has the ability to adapt to all skill levels.
