How to visit the caves of Ajanta?
We recommend doing it on your own. You can hire very cheap guides on site, however, be careful because there are many impostors who offer guiding services even if they do not speak English. We recommend arriving early, the Ajanta Caves fill up with tourists quickly, especially in high season. Arriving early will allow you to enjoy a quieter atmosphere and appreciate the details in the sculptures and frescoes without many people around.
Finally, bring water and snacks, we did not see any vendor stalls in the caves, but we did see them outside.
Take your time
With 29 caves to visit, plan at least 5-6 hours to explore thoroughly. The site is large, and some caves have unique sculptures or murals that deserve time to be appreciated at leisure. In addition...

Arriving early will allow you to explore the Ellora Caves without crowds, enjoying a quiet environment to admire the architecture and take stunning photos. It is even more important than in the Ajanta Caves.
Wear appropriate footwear and bring plenty of water, especially if visiting in summer, when the weather in Ellora can be hot.

No problem, you can go to the station to buy them, we recommend that you go 4 hours before the train departs so that you can buy train tickets from Ooty to Coonor even if you have not bought them online before.

Le Café in Ooty is a must-see destination for tourists, famous for its charming old building and a nearby quaint supermarket(with the best souvenirs in India!). Although the prices are a bit high for India, the experience is worth it, especially. It is an ideal place to enjoy a delicious meal and capture Instagram worthy moments.Trust me, you will love this place just like we did! You can thank us later, but go there to enjoy a delicious meal!
